TED TALK:How a handful of tech companies control billions of minds every day | Tristan Harris Reference

Tristan Harris describes that how technology companies control over the mind of millions of people daily. Technology is like a Blue sky you can go to any direction you want to but technology is going on the right direction where tech companies want it to be. The only think companies want is our attentions which they are doing through social media Facebook etc and the only way to understand it is to first understand how someone mind works. From Facebook notifications to snap streaks to YouTube auto plays, they’re all competing for one thing that is your attention companies prey on our psychology for their own profit and calls for a design renaissance in which our tech instead encourages us to live out the timeline we want..

Technology is not neutral at all. Snap chat is the best example of how it’s engaging the two people with each other.

It is changing us changing our relationship we want with each other it is effecting all of us. We have to make 3 changes in our life/ society to avoid these games. We have to be self-aware of things, we need a transparency and people should be accountable.

The most complex challenges in the world is to coordinate together. At the end the most important is our time and attention we have to decide. Human architecture is limited and we have some boundaries or dimension in our life that we honored and respected and technology could help in that. You have a choice to decide your priorities in your life.

This is very much important, I personally encourage everyone to hang out with friends and family – you can’t even imagine how much you feel good to spend your leisure time and completely disconnected from your cell phones, the internet, and notification of any kind. Push past a day or two of withdrawal and begin to find a rhythm but there’s no applications or platforms for it… you have to experience it by yourself. It’s a shame we spend so much of our time away from the people and places that we resonate with most.
